So! After my spay I had to take it easy for about 7-10 days to avoid any complications like the sutures tearing and what not. Mom tried her best to keep my activity level down but I still managed a few dives into the couch running at top speed and taking off into the air 4-5 feet away! I am a strong girl and lived through it ;) My sutures healed perfectly and now you can hardly tell where they were.

Here's a fact I find pretty hard to digest: about 3 million cats and dogs nationwide are euthanized in shelters alone EVERY YEAR! Isn't that scary!?! All it would take to save many of those lives is for responsible pet owners to spay or neuter their pets, dog or cat. What makes me so sad is that many of those put to sleep are perfectly healthy critters that have the capacity to love unconditionally...

Aren't I CUTE!

Once I was given the all clear, I started attending pet fairs in Garland, TX. I got to meet so many of the other fosters also looking for their forever homes and I absolutely enjoyed getting all the loving from people coming in to see us. I loved all the attention! I would climb into Aunt Andrea's chair as soon as she got out of it so I could get a better view of the goings on (or rather so people could get a better view of me!). Everyone seemed to find that pretty amusing, I wonder why... A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do to get noticed, right?
Anyway, pet fairs are pretty tiring and all I wanted to do on our way back home was sleep. But I was new to going for rides in the car so I didn't know I could actually lie down on the back seat! I tried so hard to stay awake but the exhaustion kept getting the better of me... I kept dozing off while still standing! My folks found that amusing, too! I found it to be mean of them to laugh at me while I was struggling with my sleep, trying not to fall over at the same time...!

  1. Hah! I knew that Momma was cheating on me at those pet fairs when she came back smelling so much like you. Oh well, I think you're worth it. :D And don't worry, you'll get the hang of riding in the car pretty soon.

    1. Oh Casey! I was trying to send you secret messages... All those lovey dovey smells were meant for you! I should tell you... I have a huge crush on you 😍
And I sleep like a baby in the car now! I curl up as soon as I get in and wake up at the destination 💤

  2. When I was spayed in Nov 2010, they tried to keep me from moving around for up to 10 days -- can you believe it? Keep a doggie from running around for more than a day? Heh, it didn't happen. I was up and wanting to run just after a couple of days. My mommy was careful though -- she didn't want there to be any problems, so she did limit my runs by putting me on a LEASH. Bah!

    Woofs & hugs, <3

    1. I know exactly what you mean "Bah!" !!! You can get me to sit still for a treat and that's about it and even then I'll be on my way as soon as I've taken the treat from your hand ;)
